About  Macau

Macau, also known as “Ao”, is an international city located in the northern part of the South China Sea, east of the Pearl River Estuary and Hong Kong, and west of Zhuhai, China. It is a special administrative region of the People’s Republic of China. Macau is famous for its rich cultural heritage, unique Portuguese architectural style, bustling port, and renowned casinos. It is recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage City and is also one of the world’s leading tourism and leisure centers.
Covering an area of approximately 32.9 square kilometers, Macau is composed of three main parts: the Macau Peninsula, Taipa Island, and Coloane Island. The Macau Peninsula is the political, economic, and cultural center of Macau, where you can find the famous tourist attraction, the Ruins of St. Paul. Taipa Island is known for its casinos and resorts, while Coloane Island is a quieter resort area famous for its natural scenery and beaches.
